Food waste in households and grocery stores

In households, food is often thrown away due to poor planning of purchases. It is also common for best-before dates to be misinterpreted. It is easy to say that society's increasingly fast pace is the biggest reason why behavior and consumption patterns are changing, but fundamentally it is because we have lost respect for the availability of raw materials and food.

In grocery stores, it can be misjudgments when ordering, customers' irregular buying patterns, competitors' or own campaigns, or unfavorable product placement on the store shelf. But it could also be because the store prioritizes a wide assortment in order to be able to target the clientele that expects this.
