Liseberg is the Nordic region's largest amusement park. They take in about half a million guests during Christmas alone, which means they also have to prepare extreme amounts of food. Generation Waste's measurement tools have primarily set the tone as, for the first time, they were able to compare food waste over time, from one high season to another.
Supervisor Elin Filipsson believes that Generation Waste's measurement tool allowed them to see for the first time how much food is thrown away.
- This is not something we have received any statistics on before. Just being able to get these statistics and above all having the opportunity to follow up is very interesting, says Elin Filipsson
According to Elin Filipsson, the key to a successful collaboration is awareness. And being able to show staff where, and how much, food is thrown away is a good way to raise awareness.
- If, for example, we can see that the plate waste is large, then we can already adjust it to a more reasonable amount when we portion, says Elin Filipsson
